This work is considered fundamental for the study of this important event in the history of Portugal, illustrated with numerous lithographs printed in extra-text representing Portuguese kings and other relief figures, composed by national artists such as João Marques da Silva Oliveira, Columbano Bordallo Pinheiro, Caetano Moreira, Joaquim Vitorino Ribeiro.

Diplomatic reproduction of the first edition of the 16th century, a rare work of exceptional value, in which the author reports his vigem by land from Badajoz to Milan, with detailed descriptions of the cities and places where he passed.
The natural author of Viseu, where he was Canon of the Cathedral and after the Cathedral of Évora, was nephew of the great historian João de Barros. In 1546 he was chosen to take to Rome the thanks for elevating to the cardinalate of the Infante D. Henrique.
Modern geographers, such as Amorim Girão, consider this book a book in which the correctness of the observation of nature and of geographical accidents denounce a superior spirit largely prepared for such studies.
Reproduction of a very rare and valuable sixteenth-century edition which provides scholars with a wealth of information on Southern Europe in the early sixteenth century.
Exemplary in good condition.
