O Mistério de Fátima entrevisto, visionado e contado em alguns poemas

Lisbon; Edição de C. d’Oliveira, L.da; In-8.º grande of 146(6) pages; Bound.

First edition of this poetic work by António Corrêa d’Oliveira (1879–1960), devoted to the mystery of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fátima. Through poems and dramatic scenes, the author recreates the events at Cova da Iria, giving voice to the three shepherd children and evoking the religious and popular dimensions of the Marian apparitions.

A work from the final period of the poet's literary career, dedicated to the memory of Queen Amélia of Portugal and his brother, the poet and playwright João Corrêa d’Oliveira. In a concluding note, the author explains that, owing to failing eyesight, he was unable to revise the proofs.

Copy in a sturdy full-leather binding, decorated with gilt tooling on the boards and spine, showing very slight signs of handling. Contents in good condition. Enhanced by an author's presentation inscription. Bears a former owner's bookplate.

Lisbon; Tip. Gomes e Rodrigues; In-8º of 48-page; Illustrated; Paperback

First and only published issue of a literary magazine that never continued. A unique work of Portuguese modernism, it brings together poems and essays by authors who would profoundly mark Portuguese and Lusophone literature of the 20th century, including Manuel Bandeira, Jorge de Sena, Eugénio de Andrade, António Ramos Rosa, José Bento, and João Rui de Sousa. The edition, overseen by António Carlos, António Ramos Rosa, João Rui de Sousa, José Bento, and José Terra, also features a drawing by Cipriano Dourado and a wrapping paper cover printed in green and black, in an avowedly modernist and artisanal style. The selection of texts reveals an aesthetic and critical care that seeks to capture the literary spirit of the time, its experimental impulses, and the search for new forms of expression. Uncommon and sought after. Copy in good condition, with unopened pages.
