Work integrated into the "culture and recreation collection" that narrates one of the most popular versions of the legend of the Rooster of Barcelos. The story tells how a Galician pilgrim, who was passing through Barcelos on his way to Santiago de Compostela, was unfairly accused of a crime. Despite his innocence, he was sentenced to hang. Before being executed, he asked to be taken before the judge who had sentenced him. During the encounter, a rooster that was hanging from the pilgrim's throat began to speak, proclaiming the man's innocence. This miracle saved the pilgrim and since then, the Rooster of Barcelos has been a symbol of justice and protection. Copy in good condition.
